I enjoy listening to music and podcasts when I workout, use my treadmill or spin-bike and when I’m doing long distance rides on my road bike. I’ve used lots of different earbuds but these are the most secure in my ears that I’ve used to date. The behind the head wire keeps a tension on the earbuds that prevent them from slipping out of your ears when in use.
These are bluetooth which I like a lot because it eliminates the cord that usually gets in my way when working out. No cord means no more tangles. The battery life is long enough for even my longer cycling rides.
Each earbud has controls on it. The right earbud has a multi-function control that turns the headset on or off, allows you to adjust volume and gets you into bluetooth pairing mode. The Left earbud has a left and right arrow toggle button that allows you to go forward or backward in tracks when listening to music, to put the hands-free headset on mute when on the phone, or to switch from headset to phone speaker when on a phone call.
The headset is charged via a micro-USB port and charging takes just a couple hours.
The earbuds provide a good amount of passive sound reduction so that outside noises are reduced and when I’m cycling, wind noise is reduced greatly making these better for me in that situation than most other earbuds that I’ve used in the past.
I must admit that these weren’t quite as comfortable in my ears as some other earbuds I”ve got, but they stay in my ears which is more important to me so I can deal with the slightly less comfortable fit. Of a bit more concern to me is the controls themselves… it’s hard for me to remember which earbud has which controls and since they’re on my head you can’t really see so you must rely on touch. I’m sure the more I wear these, the more I will get used to the controls. The multi-function control seems a bit fragile to me and I do worry that it may pop out or get stuck as it already has on one occasion. As I was adjusting the volume, it did not spring back to center position when I was done adjusting the level and I had to sort of nudge it with my finger to allow it to get “un-stuck.”
Last but not least, these sound great. They have a really nice sound to them. The secure fit and good sound make these a very good choice for a sports headset. And it’s nice to be able to take a phone call in the headset while biking on the road without fumbling for my phone and trying to hold it to my ear.
I was provided a sample for review.
